Day 1: Arrival in Agartala

The journey begins with your arrival at Agartala Airport. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. The day's itinerary is dependent on your arrival time.

Day 1: Arrival in Agartala & Local Exploration

Welcome to Tripura! Depending on your arrival, dive into the state's royal and spiritual heritage.

  1. Arrival in Agartala: Arrive at Agartala Airport (IXA), transfer to your hotel and check-in.
  2. Sightseeing (Based on Arrival Time):
    • If arriving before 11:00 AM: Proceed for a full sightseeing tour including the Tripuri Sundari Mata Mandir (Matabari) in Udaipur, the nearby Kasba Kali Mandir, and the beautiful Neermahal (Water Palace) near Melaghar (requires boat ride). This will be a long day.
    • If arriving after 12:00 PM: Proceed for sightseeing focusing on the Tripuri Sundari Temple in Udaipur and Neermahal near Melaghar.
  3. Return to Agartala: Drive back to Agartala in the evening for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Agartala – Unakoti – Agartala

Journey north to witness ancient rock carvings and explore Agartala's royal past.

  1. Drive to Unakoti: After an early breakfast, embark on a long day trip driving north to Unakoti (approx. 4-5 hours one way).
  2. Unakoti Exploration: Explore the archaeological site famous for its massive bas-relief rock cuttings and stone sculptures dedicated to Lord Shiva, dating back centuries.
  3. Return & Ujjayanta Palace: Drive back to Agartala. Upon return (time permitting, check closing hours), visit the magnificent Ujjayanta Palace, the former royal palace which now houses the Tripura State Museum.
  4. Agartala: Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 3: Agartala - Chobimura – Damboor Lake

Venture into Tripura's natural beauty with river carvings and expansive lake views.

  1. Agartala (Departure): Check out from your hotel after breakfast.
  2. Drive to Chobimura: Drive towards the Amarpur subdivision.
  3. Chobimura Forest: Take a boat trip on the Gomati River to witness the stunning rock panel carvings of gods and goddesses etched onto the steep cliffs within the Chobimura Forest area (also known as Chakrakma or Devtamura).
  4. Damboor Lake: Continue your journey to Damboor Lake, a vast and picturesque water body formed by the confluence of Raima and Sarma rivers, dotted with islands.
  5. Damboor Lake Area: Check into local accommodation (may be basic guesthouses) near the lake for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Damboor Lake – Agartala Airport – Guwahati Airport - Shillong

A major travel day connecting Tripura to Meghalaya via flight and road.

  1. Damboor Lake (Departure): After breakfast, drive back to Agartala Airport (IXA) (allow approx. 3-4 hours).
  2. Flight to Guwahati: Take your scheduled flight from Agartala to Guwahati Airport (GAU).
  3. Guwahati to Shillong Transfer: Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, meet your vehicle and driver for the transfer to Shillong (approx. 3-4 hours).
  4. Shillong: Arrive in Shillong, check into your hotel, and rest. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 5: Shillong – Dawki – Mawlynnong – Shillong

Discover the crystal-clear rivers and Asia's cleanest village near the Bangladesh border.

  1. Shillong (Departure): After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion.
  2. Dawki: Drive to Dawki (approx. 3 hours). Enjoy a boat ride on the stunningly clear Umngot River and see the Tamabil border crossing.
  3. Mawlynnong (Mawlalong): Drive to Mawlynnong, famed as 'Asia's Cleanest Village'. Explore the village, see the nearby Living Root Bridge (Riwai) and the Balancing Rock.
  4. Shillong (Return): Drive back to Shillong in the evening (approx. 3 hours). Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 6: Shillong - Cherrapunji - Shillong

Experience the dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, and living caves of the 'wettest place on earth'.

  1. Shillong (Departure): After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji (Sohra).
  2. Cherrapunji Sightseeing: Visit key attractions like Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Arwah Cave.
  3. Shillong (Return): Drive back to Shillong in the evening. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 7: Shillong – Aizawl (By Flight) & Sightseeing

Fly to Mizoram and get your first glimpse of Aizawl's unique culture and views.

  1. Travel to Aizawl: Check out from Shillong. Either transfer to Shillong Airport (SHL) or drive back to Guwahati Airport (GAU) (3-4 hrs) to catch your flight to Aizawl (AJL).
  2. Aizawl Arrival: Upon arrival at Lengpui Airport (Aizawl), transfer to your hotel and check-in.
  3. Aizawl Sightseeing: Proceed for local sightseeing. Visit the unique Solomon's Temple. Enjoy panoramic city views from a viewpoint or Skywalk Café.
  4. Aizawl: Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 8: Aizawl – Thenzawl - Aizawl

Explore the scenic beauty south of Aizawl, including Mizoram's highest waterfall.

  1. Aizawl (Departure): After breakfast, take a day trip towards Thenzawl.
  2. Hmuifang Hills: Visit the scenic Hmuifang Hills/Tourist Resort area, known for its pleasant climate and natural beauty.
  3. Vantawng Falls Viewpoint: Drive towards Thenzawl to get a view of the spectacular Vantawng Falls, Mizoram's highest waterfall (viewed from a distance).
  4. Thenzawl Exploration: Visit the Golf Course in Thenzawl. (Note: Dil Lake/Diphu Lake mentioned in table is geographically distant from this route).
  5. Aizawl (Return): Drive back to Aizawl in the evening. Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 9: Aizawl – Reiek Tlang - Aizawl

Trek for panoramic views and experience traditional Mizo culture.

  1. Aizawl Sightseeing: Visit the Mizoram State Museum in Aizawl.
  2. Excursion to Reiek Tlang (Reiktalang): Drive to Reiek Tlang. Trek to the summit for views over the hills, valleys, and Tlawng River valley. Explore the model Mizo village. (Vaipuanpho, Ngai Tlang, Lalsawng Peak might be nearby viewpoints).
  3. Aizawl (Return): Return to Aizawl for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Aizawl – Imphal (By Flight) & City Tour

Fly to Manipur, the 'Jewelled Land', and explore its capital.

  1. Aizawl (Departure): Check out and transfer to Aizawl Airport (AJL).
  2. Flight to Imphal: Take your scheduled flight to Imphal (IMF).
  3. Imphal Arrival: Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check-in.
  4. Imphal City Tour: Begin sightseeing: Visit the historic Kangla Fort, the sacred Shri Shri Govindajee Temple, the Manipur State Museum, and the State Art Gallery. Visit Cheiraoching Hills (War Cemetery) if time permits.
  5. Imphal: Overnight stay in Imphal.

Day 11: Imphal – Moirang - Loktak – Imphal

Discover the unique floating lake and Manipur's role in India's freedom struggle.

  1. Imphal (Departure): After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion southwards.
  2. Moirang & INA Museum: Drive to Moirang and visit the INA Memorial Complex & Museum.
  3. Japanese War Memorial: Visit the nearby Japanese War Memorial.
  4. Loktak Lake & Keibul Lamjao National Park: Proceed to Loktak Lake. Take a boat ride to see the 'phumdis' and visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park area (home to Sangai deer). (Gheljiang location unclear).
  5. Imphal (Return): Drive back to Imphal in the evening. Overnight stay in Imphal.

Day 12: Imphal – Kohima (By Road) & Sightseeing

Journey into Nagaland, land of vibrant tribes and poignant history.

  1. Imphal (Departure): Check out and begin the road journey to Kohima, Nagaland (approx. 4-5 hours).
  2. Kohima Arrival: Check into your hotel upon arrival.
  3. WWII Cemetery: Visit the immaculately maintained Kohima War Cemetery.
  4. Nagaland State Museum: Explore the Nagaland State Museum.
  5. Street Walk: Take an evening street walk through Kohima town.
  6. Kohima: Overnight stay in Kohima.

Day 13: Kohima – Khonoma – Kaziranga

Visit Asia's first green village before a long drive back to Assam's wildlife haven.

  1. Khonoma Village: Morning excursion to Khonoma Village, known for its conservation efforts and Angami heritage.
  2. Drive to Kaziranga: Depart from the Kohima/Khonoma area for the long drive to Kaziranga, Assam (approx. 6-8 hours).

Day 14: Kaziranga – Bomdila

Optional wildlife safari before heading into the mountains of Arunachal.

  2. Kaziranga (Departure): After breakfast, check out and drive towards Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh (approx. 5-6 hours, requires Inner Line Permit).
  3. Bomdila Arrival & Sightseeing: Arrive in Bomdila and check into your hotel. Enjoy brief Bomdila sightseeing (e.g., viewpoint, market).
  4. Bomdila: Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 15: Bomdila – Tawang via Dirang

Continue the scenic ascent towards Tawang, exploring Dirang valley en route.

  1. Bomdila (Departure): After breakfast, start the drive towards Tawang.
  2. Dirang Sightseeing: En route, stop for Dirang Sightseeing. This may include visiting the Dirang Monastery, exploring the valley known for kiwi orchards, or visiting the Hot Water Spring.
  3. Continue to Tawang: Proceed with the drive, crossing Sela Pass again (or an alternate route if applicable).
  4. Tawang (Arrival): Arrive in Tawang in the evening and check into your hotel.

Day 16: Tawang Sightseeing

Explore the spiritual and natural wonders around Tawang.

  1. Tawang Sightseeing: Dedicate the day to exploring Tawang. Revisit the Tawang Monastery or explore further, potentially visiting places like the Giant Buddha Statue, Ani Gompa (Nunnery), Urgelling Gompa (birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama), or nearby lakes like PT Tso or Sangetsar (Madhuri) Lake (subject to permits and road conditions).
  2. Tawang: Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 17: Tawang – Bomdila

Begin the descent, revisiting the serene Bomdila Monastery.

  2. Scenic Drive: Enjoy the mountain views on the way down, possibly stopping again at Jaswant Garh or Nuranang Falls.

Day 18: Bomdila – Guwahati & Temple Visit

A long drive back to Assam, culminating with blessings at Kamakhya Temple.

  2. Guwahati (Arrival): Reach Guwahati by evening.
  3. Maa Kamakhya Temple: Visit the revered Maa Kamakhya Temple (check darshan timings, might be crowded).
  4. Guwahati: Check into your hotel for the final night.

Day 19: Guwahati Departure

Your extensive Northeast India journey concludes.

  1. Guwahati (Check-out): After breakfast, check out from your hotel.
  2. Departure Transfer: Transfer to Guwahati Airport (GAU) for your onward flight.

  4. Personal Expenses: Expenses of a personal nature such as shopping, laundry, tips, and phone calls are not included.
  5. Travel Insurance: This package does not include travel insurance.
  6. Airfare/Train Tickets: This package does not include airfare or train tickets to and from Agartala/Guwahati. The flights between Agartala-Guwahati, Shillong-Aizawl, and Aizawl-Imphal are not included.
