Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kolkata & Sightseeing

The journey begins with your arrival in Kolkata. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of some of the city's key attractions.

1. Victoria Memorial: Visit the Victoria Memorial, a beautiful marble building that is a symbol of Kolkata and a museum dedicated to the history of India.
2. Howrah Bridge: You will get a view of the iconic Howrah Bridge, a cantilever bridge over the Hooghly River.
3. Dakshineswar Kali Temple: Visit the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, a famous Hindu temple located on the banks of the Hooghly River.

Day 2: Kolkata Sightseeing

Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical heart of Kolkata.

1. Indian Museum: Visit the Indian Museum, one of the oldest and largest museums in India, which has a magnificent collection of artifacts.
2. Kalighat Temple: Visit the Kalighat Temple, a famous Hindu temple and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
3. Belur Math: You can also visit Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, which is a serene and beautiful place.
4. Mother Teresa's House: You will visit Mother House, the headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity, where Mother Teresa lived and worked.
5. St. Paul's Cathedral: You will get a view of St. Paul's Cathedral, a magnificent Gothic-style church.

Day 3: Excursion to Gangasagar

Today is dedicated to a full-day excursion to Gangasagar. This is a very long and adventurous day, so an early start is essential. The journey involves a long drive and a ferry ride.

1. Sagar Island: Upon reaching Sagar Island, you will visit the Kapil Muni Temple and the Sagar Lighthouse.
2. Holy Dip: You will also visit the confluence of the Ganges River and the Bay of Bengal, where you can take a holy dip.
3. Bharat Sevashram Sangha: You can also visit Bharat Sevashram Sangha, a spiritual and social service organization.

Day 4: Kolkata to Shantiniketan

After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Kolkata and drive to Shantiniketan, the cultural hub of Bengal. The drive takes approximately 4 hours.

1. Shantiniketan: Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and unwind. You can take a leisurely walk around the Visva-Bharati campus and soak in the serene atmosphere.

Day 5: Shantiniketan Sightseeing & Transfer to Kolkata

Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful campus and attractions of Shantiniketan.

1. Visva-Bharati Campus: Visit the Visva-Bharati University campus, including the various buildings and art galleries.
2. Amar Kutir: You will visit Amar Kutir, a cooperative society that promotes local handicrafts.
3. Kopai & Khoai River: You can also visit the scenic Kopai and Khoai rivers.
4. Mayapur: In the afternoon, you will begin your journey back to Kolkata, with a stop in Mayapur. You will visit the ISKCON Mayapur campus for a tour and witness the evening Aarti before continuing your journey to Kolkata.

Day 6: Kolkata Departure

1. Your tour of the beautiful landscapes and historical sites of West Bengal concludes today. After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to Kolkata Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
