Day 1: Guwahati – Kaziranga Transfer - Rhino Country Beckons

Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station. Our representative will warmly greet you.

Day: Begin your comfortable road transfer to Kaziranga National Park (approximately 5-6 hours drive), a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned as the primary habitat of the greater one-horned rhinoceros.

En Route: You will pass through scenic Assamese countryside and towns like Nagaon.

Evening: Upon arrival, check into your jungle resort/hotel. The rest of the evening is at leisure to relax amidst the serene surroundings.

Night: Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 2: Kaziranga - Wildlife Encounters

Early Morning:

Elephant Safari (Kohora Range): Embark on an unforgettable Elephant Safari in the Kohora (Central) Range of Kaziranga National Park (subject to availability and operational timings; usually pre-booked early morning slots). This provides a unique, close-up encounter with rhinos, wild elephants, and other wildlife.

Morning/Afternoon: After breakfast,

Jeep Safari: Enjoy an exciting Jeep Safari in one of the ranges of the National Park (Eastern/Western/Central, as per permit), offering a broader perspective of the diverse flora and fauna, including rhinos, deer, various bird species, and if lucky, tigers.

Late Afternoon:

Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park: (Optional) Visit the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park, the largest orchid park in India, showcasing a vast collection of orchids, local plants, and a cultural display.

Tea Gardens: Take a leisurely stroll through the nearby lush Tea Gardens and learn about tea cultivation in Assam.

Night: Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 3: Kaziranga – Dirang Transfer (Via Bhalukpong) - Into Arunachal Pradesh

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Kaziranga hotel.

Day: Begin your scenic journey towards Dirang (approximately 7-8 hours drive), a beautiful valley town in Arunachal Pradesh. You will formally enter Arunachal Pradesh via the Check Post at Bhalukpong.

Tippi Orchid Research Centre: En route, near Bhalukpong, visit the Tippi Orchid Research Centre, home to thousands of orchid species (subject to blooming season).

Evening: Arrive in Dirang. Check into your hotel.

Dirang Dzong Valley: Admire the picturesque Dirang Dzong Valley and the Dirang River.

Dirang Monastery (Khastung Gompa): Visit the serene Dirang Monastery, offering peaceful ambiance and panoramic views of the valley.

Take a brief stroll around Dirang Town.

Night: Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 4: Dirang – Tawang Transfer - Majestic Mountains & Passes

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Dirang hotel and begin your incredibly scenic drive to Tawang (approximately 6-7 hours drive), one of the most picturesque and significant towns in Arunachal Pradesh. This route takes you through high-altitude passes and breathtaking landscapes.

En Route:

Sela Pass & Sela Lake: Cross the majestic Sela Pass (13,700 ft), often snow-covered, and stop at the tranquil Sela Lake, a sacred site for Buddhists.

Jaswant Singh War Memorial: Pay homage at the poignant Jaswant Singh War Memorial (Jaswant Garh), dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, a brave Indian soldier of the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Jung Waterfalls (Nuranang Falls): Marvel at the spectacular Nuranang Falls, also known as Jung Falls, a pristine and powerful waterfall.

Evening: Arrive in Tawang. Check into your hotel.

Night: Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 5: Tawang Sightseeing - Spiritual & Border Wonders

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full day of sightseeing in and around Tawang.

Tawang Monastery: Visit the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the second-largest monastery in Asia and an important center for Tibetan Buddhism. Explore its vast complex, prayer halls, and museum.

Indo-China War Memorial (Tawang War Memorial): Pay respects at the poignant Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Taktsang Gompa (Tiger's Den Monastery): (Optional, requires a bit of a trek) Visit the serene Taktsang Gompa, believed to have been visited by Guru Padmasambhava.

Afternoon:

Bum La Pass (India-China Border): (Optional, permit required, additional cost, weather/road conditions permitting) If open and you wish to venture further, consider a trip to Bum La Pass, near the Indo-China Border, offering stark beauty and a sense of remoteness.

Madhuri Lake (Shungatser Lake): Explore the stunning Madhuri Lake, also famously known as Shungatser Lake after a Bollywood film shooting, surrounded by unique tree stumps.

Evening: Enjoy a walk around the local town and market area of Tawang.

Night: Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 6: Tawang – Bomdila Transfer - Descending from the Highlands

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Tawang hotel.

Day: Begin your return journey to Bomdila (approximately 6-7 hours drive). Enjoy the scenic drive back through the mountains.

Afternoon: Upon arrival in Bomdila, check into your hotel.

Bomdila Monastery: Visit the peaceful Bomdila Monastery, offering insights into Buddhist culture and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Mountain View Point: Stop at a scenic Mountain View Point for photography.

Local Market: Explore the vibrant Local Market of Bomdila.

Day 7: Bomdila – Tezpur Transfer - Historic Gateway to Assam

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Bomdila hotel.

Day: Begin your journey to Tezpur (approximately 5-6 hours drive), a historically significant town in Assam, known as the "City of Blood" due to ancient legends.

Afternoon: Upon arrival in Tezpur, check into your hotel.

Agnigarh Hills: Visit Agnigarh Hills, an ancient hillock associated with the legend of Princess Usha and Prince Aniruddha, offering panoramic views of the Brahmaputra River.

Kolia Bhomora Bridge: Drive past the impressive Kolia Bhomora Bridge over the Brahmaputra River.

Explore a Local Market to experience daily life in Tezpur.

Night: Overnight stay in Tezpur.

Day 8: Tezpur – Guwahati Transfer - Brahmaputra & Temples

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Tezpur hotel.

Day: Begin your journey back to Guwahati (approximately 4-5 hours drive), the largest city in Assam and the gateway to North East India.

Afternoon: Upon arrival in Guwahati, check into your hotel.

Late Afternoon/Evening:

Kamakhya Temple: Visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, a significant Shakti Peeth and a major pilgrimage site, known for its unique Tantric worship.

Brahmaputra Sunset River Cruise: (Optional, at extra cost, subject to availability) Enjoy a relaxing Brahmaputra Sunset River Cruise, offering stunning views of the city skyline and the majestic river.

City Visit: Explore other parts of the city if time permits.

Day 9: Guwahati - Departure

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Guwahati hotel.

Departure: Our representative will assist you with your timely transfer to Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying a treasure trove of incredible memories from your 'Arunachal Pradesh Wilderness & Monasteries' adventure.
