Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati & Transfer to Shillong - Gateway to Meghalaya

Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station. Our representative will warmly greet you.

En Route: Begin your scenic drive to Shillong, the picturesque capital of Meghalaya.

Kamakhya Temple (Guwahati): (Optional, if time permits upon arrival in Guwahati) Visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, a significant Shakti Peeth, before departing for Shillong.

Umiam Lake (Barapani Lake): En route to Shillong, stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake, a sprawling reservoir offering stunning views and boating opportunities (optional).

Evening: Arrive in Shillong. Check into your hotel and relax. You can enjoy an evening stroll around Police Bazaar.

Night: Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong - Cherrapunji Excursion - The Wettest Place on Earth

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji (Sohra), renowned as one of the wettest places on Earth, famous for its living root bridges, waterfalls, and caves.

Explore major attractions like the Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai Falls (India's fourth-highest plunge waterfall), Seven Sisters Falls, and the Thangkharang Park.

Afternoon: Return to Shillong.

Evening: Enjoy some leisure time at Police Bazaar, a bustling market area perfect for souvenir shopping and local delicacies.

Day 3: Shillong - Mawlynnong & Dawki Excursion - Asia's Cleanest Village & Crystal Clear Waters

Morning: After breakfast, embark on another fascinating full-day excursion.

Mawlynnong Village: Drive to Mawlynnong Village, celebrated as "Asia's Cleanest Village." Explore its pristine surroundings and interact with the local Khasi community.

Living Root Bridge: Witness the incredible natural marvel of a Living Root Bridge near Mawlynnong, a testament to traditional Khasi engineering.

Balancing Rock: See the unique Balancing Rock formation.

Dawki & Umngot River: Proceed to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Enjoy a serene boat ride on the river, where you can often see the riverbed clearly.

Indo-Bangladesh Border (Tamabil): Visit the Tamabil viewpoint near the Indo-Bangladesh Border.

Evening: Return to Shillong.

Day 4: Shillong - Kaziranga Transfer - Rhino Country

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Shillong hotel and begin your scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park (approximately 6-7 hours), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the greater one-horned rhinoceros.

Afternoon: Upon arrival, check into your jungle resort/hotel.

Late Afternoon:

Kaziranga Orchid Park: Visit the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park, the largest orchid park in India, showcasing a vast collection of orchids, local plants, and a cultural display.

Tea Gardens: Take a stroll through the nearby lush Tea Gardens and learn about tea cultivation.

Bihu Dance Show: In the evening, enjoy a vibrant Bihu Dance Show (seasonal/subject to availability), a traditional Assamese folk dance.

Night: Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 5: Kaziranga - Dirang Transfer (Via Bomdila) - Into Arunachal Pradesh

Early Morning:

Jeep Safari – Kaziranga National Park: Embark on an exhilarating Jeep Safari in the Central or Western range of Kaziranga National Park (Elephant Safari is optional and subject to availability/extra cost, often starts very early morning). This is your best chance to spot the majestic one-horned rhino and other wildlife.

Morning: After breakfast, check out from Kaziranga and begin your journey towards Dirang (approximately 7-8 hours), entering the enchanting state of Arunachal Pradesh.

En Route Bomdila: You will pass through Bomdila, a scenic town.

Bomdila Monastery: (Optional, if time permits) You can visit the peaceful Bomdila Monastery for a brief stop.

Evening: Arrive in Dirang. Check into your hotel. Dirang offers stunning views of the Dirang Valley and River.

Night: Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 6: Dirang - Tawang Transfer - The Monastic Marvel

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Dirang hotel and begin your journey to Tawang (approximately 6-7 hours), one of the most picturesque and significant towns in Arunachal Pradesh.

En Route: This route is famous for its high-altitude passes and stunning lakes.

Sela Pass & Sela Lake: Cross the majestic Sela Pass (13,700 ft), often snow-covered, and stop at the serene Sela Lake.

Jaswant Garh Indo-China War Memorial: Pay homage at the Jaswant Garh Indo-China War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat.

P.T. Tso Lake (Peng Teng Tso Lake): Visit the beautiful high-altitude P.T. Tso Lake.

Shungatser Lake (Madhuri Lake): Explore the stunning Shungatser Lake, also famously known as "Madhuri Lake" after a Bollywood film shooting.

Bum La Pass: (Optional, permit required, additional cost, weather/road conditions permitting) If open and you wish to venture further, consider a trip to Bum La Pass on the Indo-China border.

Evening: Arrive in Tawang. Check into your hotel.

Night: Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 7: Tawang Sightseeing - Spiritual & Scenic Wonders

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full day of sightseeing in and around Tawang.

Tawang Monastery: Visit the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the second-largest monastery in Asia and an important center for Tibetan Buddhism. Explore its vast complex, library, and prayer halls.

Ani Gompa: (Optional) Visit a nearby nunnery.

Afternoon:

Tawang War Memorial: Visit the poignant Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Sound and Light Show: In the evening, experience the moving Sound and Light Show at the memorial (subject to show timings and availability).

Explore local markets for souvenirs.

Night: Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 8: Tawang - Bomdila Transfer - Descending from the Highlands

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Tawang hotel.

Day: Begin your return journey to Bomdila (approximately 6-7 hours).

Nuranang Falls (Jang Falls): En route, make a stop at the spectacular Nuranang Falls, also known as Jang Falls, a pristine and powerful waterfall.

Evening: Arrive in Bomdila. Check into your hotel. The evening is free to explore the town or relax.

Night: Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 9: Bomdila - Guwahati Transfer - Back to the Plains

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Bomdila hotel.

Day: Begin your journey back to Guwahati (approximately 8-9 hours), descending from the hills of Arunachal Pradesh to the plains of Assam. Enjoy the changing landscapes and scenic beauty.

Evening: Arrive in Guwahati. Check into your hotel. The evening is free for relaxation.

Night: Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 10: Guwahati - Aizawl Transfer (By Flight) - The Land of the Hill People

Morning: After breakfast, check out from your Guwahati hotel.

Flight to Aizawl: Transfer to Guwahati Airport for your flight to Aizawl, Mizoram (approx. 1-1.5 hour flight time).

Afternoon: Upon arrival at Lengpui Airport, Aizawl, our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the city. Check into your hotel.

Late Afternoon:

Bara Bazar: Explore Bara Bazar, the main shopping center of Aizawl, offering traditional Mizo garments, handicrafts, and local produce.

Night: Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 11: Aizawl Sightseeing - Panoramic Views & Mizo Culture

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full day of sightseeing in Aizawl.

Durtlang Hills: Drive up to Durtlang Hills for breathtaking panoramic views of Aizawl city and the surrounding Mizo hills.

Solomon's Temple: Visit the impressive Solomon's Temple, a beautiful and unique church complex.

Afternoon:

Flight to Imphal: Transfer to Lengpui Airport, Aizawl for your flight to Imphal, Manipur (approx. 1-1.5 hour flight time, may have a short layover depending on schedule).

Afternoon: Upon arrival in Imphal, our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to your hotel. Check into your hotel.

Late Afternoon:

Kangla Fort & Kangla Museum: Begin your exploration with a visit to the historic Kangla Fort, the ancient capital of the Manipuri kings, and its associated Kangla Museum.

World War II Cemetery: Pay homage at the poignant World War II Cemetery, a solemn reminder of the fierce battles fought here.

Day 13: Imphal Sightseeing - Royal History & Local Life

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full day of sightseeing in Imphal.

Ima Keithel (Mother's Market): Experience the vibrant Ima Keithel, a unique market entirely run by women, offering a glimpse into local life and handicrafts.

Manipur State Museum: Visit the Manipur State Museum (closed on Mondays) to see a collection of Manipuri culture, history, and natural history.

Afternoon:

Kohima War Cemetery: Visit the poignant Kohima War Cemetery, a beautifully maintained memorial dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in World War II's Battle of Kohima.

State Museum: Explore the Nagaland State Museum (closed on Mondays and public holidays) to learn about the rich history, traditions, and artifacts of the various Naga tribes.

Afternoon:

Day 16: Kohima - Dimapur Departure

Day: Our representative will assist you with your transfer to Dimapur Airport (DMU) or Railway Station (approximately 3-4 hours drive) for your onward journey, carrying a treasure trove of incredible memories from your 'Amazing North East Cultural Explorer' adventure.
