Day 1: Bagdogra to Gangtok
The journey begins with your arrival at Bagdogra Airport. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. The drive takes approximately 4-5 hours.
- Gangtok: Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and explore the local market and you can also try the most famous dish "Thukpa"
Day 2: Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion
Today is dedicated to a full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake. This is a very long and adventurous day, so an early start is essential.
- Tsomgo Lake: You will visit the beautiful Tsomgo Lake, a high-altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
- Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir: You will also visit Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a temple dedicated to a soldier of the Indian Army who is revered as a saint.
- Optional: Nathula Pass: If the weather and road conditions permit, and you have the required permits, you can visit Nathula Pass (at an extra cost).
Day 3: Gangtok to Lachen
After an early breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and begin your long and scenic journey to Lachen. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours.
- Singhik Viewpoint: You will stop at Singhik Viewpoint for a panoramic view of Mount Kanchenjunga.
- Seven Sisters & Naga Waterfalls: You will also make a stop at the beautiful Seven Sisters and Naga Waterfalls.
- Lachen: Upon arrival in Lachen, a beautiful village at a high altitude, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize.
Day 4: Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake - Lachung
Today is a very long and adventurous day. You will have a very early start to visit Gurudongmar Lake.
- Gurudongmar Lake: You will drive to Gurudongmar Lake, a sacred high-altitude lake located at an altitude of over 17,000 feet. You will also visit Chopta Valley on your way.
- Chopta Valley:Visit Chopta Valley in North Sikkim, a breathtaking high-altitude valley showcasing alpine flora and stunning views near Lachen.
- Lachung: After your visit, you will return to Lachen for lunch and then drive to Lachung, which is approximately a 2-hour drive. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel.
Day 5: Lachung - Yumthang Valley - Gangtok
- Lachung & Yumthang Excursion: Depart Lachung early. Drive through Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary to Yumthang Valley ("Valley of Flowers") and visit the nearby Hot Spring.
- Explore Yumthang: Spend time enjoying the scenic meadows and mountain views in Yumthang Valley.
- Return to Gangtok: Begin the long drive back from Yumthang Valley to Gangtok for overnight stay.
Day 6: Gangtok Sightseeing to Pelling
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and embark on a sightseeing tour of Gangtok before driving to Pelling. The drive to Pelling takes approximately 5 hours.
- Gangtok Local Sights : Visit the serene Banjhakri Waterfall and park.
- Monastery & Research: Explore the iconic Dro-dul Chorten stupa and the nearby Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.
- Flora & Crafts: Visit the seasonal Flower Exhibition Centre and the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (Handicraft Centre).
- Pelling Arrival: Arrive in Pelling and check into your hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 7: Pelling Sightseeing to Darjeeling
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and embark on a sightseeing tour of Pelling before driving to Darjeeling. The drive to Darjeeling takes approximately 4-5 hours.
- Pemayangtse Monastery: Begin your day exploring this prominent and ancient monastery in Pelling.
- Rabdentse Ruins: Visit the nearby historical ruins of the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim, offering great views.
- Helipad Viewpoint: Stop for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Kanchenjunga (weather permitting).
- Darap Village: Take a short drive to explore this traditional Limboo village for a glimpse into local rural life.
- Rimbi Falls: Visit this scenic waterfall located along the Rimbi River.
- Kanchenjunga Falls: Stop at this large, perennial waterfall cascading down rocky cliffs.
- Khecheopalri Lake: Proceed to visit this sacred lake, revered by both Buddhists and Hindus, known for its serene atmosphere and wish-fulfilling beliefs.
- Darjeeling Arrival: Arrive in Darjeeling in the evening and check into your hotel.
Day 8: Darjeeling to Bagdogra Departure
- Your tour of the beautiful landscapes of Sikkim and Darjeeling concludes today. After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. The drive takes approximately 3-4 hours.
