Day 1: Arrival in Kolkata & Sightseeing
The journey begins with your arrival in Kolkata. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of some of the city's key attractions.
- Victoria Memorial: Visit the Victoria Memorial, a beautiful marble building that is a symbol of Kolkata and a museum dedicated to the history of India.
- Howrah Bridge: You will get a view of the iconic Howrah Bridge, a cantilever bridge over the Hooghly River.
- Dakshineswar Kali Temple: Visit the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, a famous Hindu temple located on the banks of the Hooghly River.
- Belur Math: You can also visit Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, which is a serene and beautiful place.
Day 2: Kolkata Sightseeing
Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical heart of Kolkata.
- Indian Museum: Visit the Indian Museum, one of the oldest and largest museums in India, which has a magnificent collection of artifacts.
- Kalighat Temple: Visit the Kalighat Temple, a famous Hindu temple and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
- Mother Teresa's House: You will visit Mother House, the headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity, where Mother Teresa lived and worked.
- St. Paul's Cathedral: You will get a view of St. Paul's Cathedral, a magnificent Gothic-style church.
- Birla Planetarium: In the evening, you can visit the Birla Planetarium, a popular attraction for science and astronomy enthusiasts.
Day 3: Excursion to Gangasagar
Today is dedicated to a full-day excursion to Gangasagar. This is a very long and adventurous day, so an early start is essential. The journey involves a long drive and a ferry ride.
- Sagar Island: Upon reaching Sagar Island, you will visit the Kapil Muni Temple and the Sagar Lighthouse.
- Holy Dip: You will also visit the confluence of the Ganges River and the Bay of Bengal, where you can take a holy dip.
- Bharat Sevashram Sangha: You can also visit Bharat Sevashram Sangha, a spiritual and social service organization.
Day 4: Kolkata to Bhubaneswar & Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Kolkata and be transferred to the airport or railway station for your flight or train to Bhubaneswar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and proceed for a city tour.
- Lingaraja Temple: Visit the Lingaraja Temple, one of the oldest and largest temples in Bhubaneswar.
- Mukteshwar Temple: You will also visit Mukteshwar Temple, a beautiful temple known for its intricate carvings and stunning architecture.
- Udayagiri & Khandagiri Caves: Visit the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, a set of ancient rock-cut caves.
- Odisha State Museum: You will also visit the Odisha State Museum, which has a rich collection of artifacts and exhibits.
Day 5: Bhubaneswar to Puri & Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Bhubaneswar and drive to Puri. The journey takes approximately 1-2 hours. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and proceed for sightseeing.
- Jagannath Temple: Visit the famous Jagannath Temple, one of the four Dhams of India and a major pilgrimage site.
- Puri Beach: You will have some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful Puri Beach.
- Chilika Lake: You will embark on a boat trip on Chilika Lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia, which is home to a wide variety of birds and dolphins.
Day 6: Puri & Konark Sightseeing
Today is dedicated to exploring the magnificent Sun Temple of Konark and the cultural village of Raghurajpur.
- Konark Sun Temple: Drive along the Puri-Konark Marine Drive to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Konark Sun Temple, a magnificent temple shaped like a giant chariot.
- Raghurajpur Artist Village: Visit Raghurajpur Artist Village, a heritage crafts village known for its Pattachitra paintings and other traditional handicrafts.
Day 7: Puri Departure
- Your tour of the beautiful landscapes and historical sites of Eastern India concludes today. After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to Bhubaneswar Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
