Day 1: Chandigarh to Shimla Transfer and Sightseeing

The journey begins with a transfer from Chandigarh to Shimla. This picturesque drive takes approximately 4-5 hours, offering your first glimpses of the stunning Himalayan foothills. After arriving and checking into your hotel, you will proceed to visit some of Shimla's most iconic landmarks.

  1. Shimla State Museum: This museum, housed in a colonial-era mansion, showcases the cultural and historical heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Its collection includes ancient artifacts, traditional art, and historical documents that provide insight into the region's rich past.
  2. The Ridge of Shimla: A large, open space in the heart of Shimla, The Ridge is the hub of all cultural activities and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely walk and to soak in the lively atmosphere.
  3. Scandal Point: Located at the intersection of The Ridge and Mall Road, this point is famous for its historical legends. It offers a great vantage point for photos and a place to learn about the local folklore.

Day 2: Shimla to Manali Transfer via Kufri

After an early breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and head towards Manali. The journey is a long one, approximately 7-8 hours, but you'll make a stop at the scenic hill station of Kufri along the way.

  1. Kufri: Known for its lush greenery and stunning views, Kufri is a popular destination for families. You can enjoy horse riding and other activities while admiring the beautiful landscape.
  2. Indira Bungalow: Located near Kufri, this bungalow offers breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere. It's a good spot for a quick break and some photography.
  3. Himalayan Nature Park: This park is home to a variety of Himalayan fauna, including musk deer, snow leopards, and other species native to the region. It’s an excellent place for nature lovers.
  4. Mall Road, Shimla: You will have a chance to explore a part of Shimla's bustling Mall Road, famous for its shops and eateries, before continuing your journey.
  5. Christ Church, Shimla: Located on The Ridge, this neo-gothic church is one of the oldest in North India. Its beautiful stained-glass windows and historic architecture make it a must-see.

Day 3: Manali Sightseeing

Today is dedicated to exploring the local attractions of Manali, immersing you in its rich culture and natural beauty.

  1. Hidimba Devi Temple: Tucked away in a serene cedar forest, this ancient cave temple is dedicated to Goddess Hidimba. The temple's unique wooden architecture with a conical roof is a sight to behold.
  2. Himalayan Nyinmapa Tibetan Buddhist Monastery: This monastery is a peaceful place to learn about Tibetan Buddhism and admire its vibrant and colorful architecture. You can also shop for Tibetan handicrafts and souvenirs here.
  3. Manu Temple: This temple is dedicated to the sage Manu, who is believed to be the creator of the human race. Located in Old Manali, it's a place of great spiritual significance and offers a tranquil environment.
  4. Mall Road, Manali: The heart of Manali's social and commercial activity, Mall Road is the perfect place to enjoy an evening stroll, shop for local handicrafts and woolen clothes, and savor delicious local cuisine at one of the many cafes.

Day 4: Manali - Solang Valley - Manali

An adventurous day awaits you with an excursion to the famous Solang Valley.

  1. Atal Tunnel: You will drive through the magnificent Atal Tunnel, the world's longest highway tunnel at an altitude above 10,000 feet. This marvel of engineering connects Manali to Lahaul and Spiti Valley and offers a scenic drive.
  2. Sissu Waterfall: Located in the Lahaul Valley, this stunning waterfall is a beautiful sight. The journey to the waterfall itself, through the new tunnel, is an experience in itself.
  3. Solang Valley: Known for its breathtaking views and adventure sports, Solang Valley is a key attraction in Manali. Depending on the season and availability, you can indulge in activities like paragliding, bungee jumping, hot air ballooning, and quad biking.

Day 5: Manali to Chandigarh Departure

On your last day, after breakfast and checking out from your hotel, you will begin your return journey to Chandigarh.

  1. Beas River (River Rafting): En route to Chandigarh, you'll have the opportunity to stop by the Beas River and indulge in a thrilling session of river rafting (subject to weather conditions and availability). This is an optional activity and will have an additional cost.The tour concludes upon your drop-off at Chandigarh.
