Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati & Transfer to Shillong

The journey begins with your arrival at Guwahati Airport. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. The drive takes approximately 3-4 hours.

1. Umiam Lake: On the way to Shillong, you will make a stop at Umiam Lake, a beautiful man-made reservoir surrounded by hills and pine trees.
2. Shillong: Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the upcoming tour.

Day 2: Shillong Local Sightseeing

Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful city of Shillong and its surroundings.

1. Don Bosco Museum: Visit the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures, a major museum that provides a glimpse into the rich culture of the different states of Northeast India.
2. Cathedral of Mary: Visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, a beautiful and historic church known for its stunning architecture.
3. Ward's Lake: Take a walk around Ward's Lake, a beautiful artificial lake in the heart of the city.
4. Golf Course: You will also get a chance to see the picturesque Shillong Golf Course, often referred to as the "Gleneagles of the East."
5. Police Bazaar: In the evening, you can enjoy some leisure time at Police Bazaar, a popular shopping and dining hub in Shillong.

Day 3: Shillong - Dawki - Mawlynnong - Shillong (Day Trip)

Today is dedicated to a full-day excursion from Shillong to the border town of Dawki and the picturesque village of Mawlynnong.

1. Mawlynnong Village: Visit Mawlynnong, famously known as "Asia's Cleanest Village." You will explore the village, see the Balancing Rock, and the unique Living Root Bridge.
2. Dawki: Visit the border town of Dawki, where you can enjoy a boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River and see the Indo-Bangladesh Border at Tamabil.

Day 4: Shillong to Kaziranga

1. After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Shillong and drive to Kaziranga National Park. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours. The journey is scenic and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Kaziranga, you will check into your resort and have the rest of the day to relax.

Day 5: Kaziranga Safari & Transfer to Bomdila

After an early morning safari in Kaziranga, you will check out from your resort and drive to Bomdila. The drive is a very long and scenic one, approximately 7-8 hours, taking you through the beautiful landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh.

1. Jeep Safari: Enjoy a jeep safari in the Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a home to the one-horned rhinoceros.
2. Bomdila: Upon arrival in Bomdila, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax.

Day 6: Bomdila - Tawang

Today is a very scenic drive from Bomdila to Tawang. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours. Along the way, you will visit some of the most beautiful passes and lakes in the region.

1. Dirang: You will pass through Dirang, a small town with beautiful monasteries and hot springs.
2. Sela Pass: Cross the Sela Pass, a high-altitude pass that is often covered in snow and offers stunning views.
3. P.T. Tso Lake, Shungatser Lake & Bum La Pass: You will also visit P.T. Tso Lake and the famous Shungatser Lake (often called Madhuri Lake) and the Bum La Pass (subject to road conditions and permits).

Day 7: Tawang Sightseeing

Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful town of Tawang and its surroundings.

1. Tawang Monastery: Visit the Tawang Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in India and a key center of Mahayana Buddhism.
2. Tawang War Memorial: Visit the Tawang War Memorial, a memorial dedicated to the soldiers who died in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
3. Light and Sound Show: In the evening, you will witness a beautiful light and sound show at the Tawang War Memorial.

Day 8: Tawang - Bomdila

After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Tawang and begin your journey back to Bomdila. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours.

1. Nuranang Falls: On the way, you will visit the stunning Nuranang Falls near Jang, a beautiful waterfall that is a great place to stop and take some pictures.
2. Bomdila: Upon arrival in Bomdila, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax.

Day 9: Bomdila - Guwahati

1. After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Bomdila and begin your long journey back to Guwahati. The drive takes approximately 9-10 hours. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax.

Day 10: Guwahati Sightseeing & Departure

1. Your tour of the beautiful landscapes of Northeast India concludes today. After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and visit some of the key attractions before being transferred to the airport or railway station.
2. Kamakhya Temple: Visit the famous Maa Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India.
3. Guwahati Airport/Railway Station: You will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.

Inclusions

1. Accommodation: 2 nights in Shillong, 1 night in Kaziranga, 1 night in Bomdila, 2 nights in Tawang, 1 night in Bomdila, and 1 night in Guwahati.
2. Meals: Daily breakfast is included in your stay.
3. Transportation: All transfers and sightseeing tours are included as per the itinerary in a private vehicle (e.g., sedan, SUV, etc.).
